Being mistreated allows us to understand how to love truly and wholly, for being mistreated forces us to understand the ways in which one should not act (as well as making it very easy to see peoples true natures), when this is fully understood and accepted in the individual, it is quite easy to see from another's perspective and to understand their thoughts and feelings, allowing you to better yourself by reacting the correct way to their emotions rather than allowing your own emotions to dictate your responses.
