Poetry stands alone in the world of academia. It is a study of human nature above, and below, that of universal understanding. And for this I love, and hate it. As far as I am concerned the only valid critics in the world of poetry are the writer and the reader. Anyone else is simply exercising an act of masterbation; the poem has no universal unit of value.
