They said listen to you heart. I said I was always tone deaf. They said follow your heart. I said I was always bad with directions They said communicate with your heart. I said I was always anti-social They said become one with you're heart. I said I always preferred to be my own individual that didn't rely on the viscus of cardiac muscle that maintains the circulation of the blood in one's body. The heart does not possess eyes to see the deceit in one’s eyes when the say one thing but their eyes say another. The heart does not reserve ears to hear one’s persuasive lies when they say “I love you”. But yet a heart seems to withhold the sense to feel the devastation of what it can not hear or see. So please tell me why I should listen, follow, communicate, or even become one with something that lives off of the instinct of lies, deceit, and sensible bullshit it is taught and told to believe? -Sharifa Jacob
