A soldier never praised, shows not long the virtues of valor and long suffering. A leader who offers no praise, but says "Alas, none the effort how heroic is praise worthy, because all effort is obligatory, bankrupts the soldiers' sense of duty and honor, and the will to strive for greatness. In contrast, that soldier who states, "I will never desire or need praise at anytime, for I am iron and do not bend to the struggle, will be found void of compassion for his fellow man. Without admission, this soldier will cease efforts beyond what is necessary. Occasional praise of those who serve as your subordinates, can birth a desire for service within their hearts that will stand the test of time. -James Tomlinson Sr
