In society's eyes, a school is only as good as the quality of matric results it produces (and not necessarily the percentage of passes per se), just as a learner is good as their (his/her) matric results. Society will always measure the prestige of a school and the intellect of its pupils 'solely' on what they see on the day of release of results. When a school or learner performs badly academically all its/their other achievements (be it in Sports/& Culture) fade into insignificance. Sad but True. -Sifiso Ngobeni
