Reflection- how cancer and martial arts are related: "Cancer and any type of martial art competition actually have a lot in common. With both, you have to dig deep in order to win the battle. When the battle gets tough, you have to have the will, the perseverance, and the determination to get back up. I believe this is why I was so drawn and interested in taking up martial arts after I defeated cancer- the similarities between the 2 are endless. Cancer has allowed me to see all the benefits of martial arts and if I never had cancer, I may have never became a martial artist and my philosophies on various subjects such as life and religion probably wouldn't even exist. Lastly, I believe the two working together sparked the interest in wanting to grow and develop in my faith. If things didn't happen the way that they did, I have a feeling that I wouldn't be where I am in my journey today." -Chris Ralph
